Mindfulness For The Menopause

The theme of this day is self care.

We will explore the benefits of mindful living with games, art, music, singing, Mindfulness meditations, movements, mindful eating, drinking, to cultivating our choices in reducing stress reactions and cultivating mindfulness attitudes and compassion towards ourselves and others.

The menopause is a big change in our identity as women and arrives with different intensity of sensations, moods and reactions. This is a great time to be-friend ourselves and support ourselves with the tsunami of moods, cognitive fluctuations and body changes. Women of all ages benefit from an integrative approach to the emotional and physical turmoil created by fluctuations and decreasing levels of hormones the change of hormones levels called the menopause. 

Mindful awareness and meditation helps us develop coping skills for the wide fluctuation of emotions, sensations, thoughts and cultivates our ability to keep our feet on the ground while watching the tide of change in ourselves and others. Mindfulness brings us the capacity to be compassionate, kind to ourselves and others practice meditation, and self-regulations to reduce anxiety, and depression.

This experiential day long workshop is open to all women and yoga teachers/ yoga therapists/ health care practitioners who are seeking to support positive perspectives on experiences of menopause in women’s lives, either for themselves personally, or for their students and clients. 

Supportive meditations and movements will be taught. There will be plenty of time for discussion. An overview of common menopausal challenges and opportunities will be discussed to develop your own tailored wellbeing plan.

There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and discussions.
